The Community Mother will work as part of the Community Mothers Team to deliver the Community Mothers Programme, including conducting home visits and facilitating group work. The Community Mother will work as an integral part of the Community Mothers Programme and the Child and Family Service in LSSC.

Vacancy - 2 x Early Years Practitioners, Southside Child & Family Centre
Limerick Social Service Council CLG is seeking experienced, enthusiastic and driven Early Year’s Practitioners to join our team in the Southside Child and Family Centre. This is a really exciting and innovative service that will cater for the needs of children and families accessing the Child and Family Centre.
The successful candidates will ensure the Early Years/Family Support Service is delivered in a professional manner and help create a safe, caring and welcoming environment for the children and their families/carers.

Vacancy - Project Worker- Teen Parent Support Programme and Community Mothers Programme (12 months Fixed-Term Contract, 25-37.5 hours/week)
The Project Worker role will include one to one work with parents of young children, facilitation of group work and administrative duties. This post is funded by TUSLA Child and Family Agency. The successful candidate will form an integral part LSSC’s Child and Family Service.

Vacancy - Community Social Worker (Full Time 37.5 hours per week, Fixed Term 52 week contract)
The Community Social Worker will work as part of the Community Social Work and Family Support Service within LSSC’s Child and Family Service to support families to build stronger relationships, develop their parenting and communication skills and address a range of challenges that they may be facing. This work will be done through one to one home visits, centre-based work and targeted group work interventions, where needed.

Southill Seniors Christmas Dinner
A wonderful Day had by all, at the new Child & Family Center. Mr Ryan accompanied by 50 children & 5 teachers from Our Lady Queen Of Peace School entertained 67 Southill Seniors by singing, acting, playing trombone, drums & violin 's. They also served wonderful food to each table. The children's kindness was overwhelming when each child gifted the Seniors with a Christmas present. This event was co-ordinated by Mary O'Hehir LSSC

Hunt Museum exhibits prisoners' artwork
Mary O'Hehir an LSSC staff member recently took a group to the Open Minds Exhibition run by the Irish Prison Service. Mary was interviewed by a UL student.

The Child & Family Centre Galvone
The LSSC will develop the management of the Child & Family Centre at the new Southside Education Campus which will be a state of the art campus providing integrated and accessible service provision for children.

The LSSC has recently been involved with the new Commissioning process of TUSLA, Child & Family Agency and the LSSC General Manager, Mr Brian Ryan.

Children First Act, 2015
The LSSC acknowledges that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect children and young people. The Children First Act, 2015 is due to commence in December 2017.
